The Opportunity

The Guardian has approved a strategic plan to significantly expand editorial and commercial resources in the United States in 2011, growing reach and revenues in the world’s largest economy.  The Guardian in America will be an entirely digital operation commited to an open editorial philosophy, engaging readers in dramatic fashion.  We are looking for an experienced sales director, account executive, and sales planner to help us grow the brand.

 

Sales Director

 

Responsibilities

 

? Manage high potential agency assignment
? Manage sales pipeline to achieve person revenue goals
? Prospect, lead generate and develop new business pitches
? Develop and cultivate deep relationships at all levels from client to agency

 

Qualifications: Knowledge, Ideal Experience, Skills

? BA or BS degree required
? 3-5 years digital experience, 3 years sales experience
? Effective at building agency relationships.
? Proven ability to cultivate key client relationships.
? Proven track record of success driving revenue through development of strategic relationships.
? International media selling experience preferred.
? Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills
? Comprehensive knowledge of the on-line media market
? Working knowledge of salesforce.com helpful

Account Executive

Sales Planner

Responsibilities

  1. Closely collaborate with members of the US sales team to develop effective presentations
  2. Accompany members of the sales team on sales calls.
  3. Assist in proposal development to respond to RFPS
  4. Upload campaigns in Agency trading platforms (iDesk, mediaVisor)
  5. Develop sales case studies for new categories by working with sales team and research
  6. Work with Adops to ensure campaign performance
  7. Responsible for monthly campaign reconciliations with agency and finance

Qualifications:  Knowledge, Ideal Experience, Skills

  1. Familiarity with international media
  2. Be familiar with third party research (Comscore, TNS, etc.)
  3. Proficient with Microsoft Office – especially Powerpoint
  4. Intimate knowledge of digital publishing specifications and advertising units
  5. Understand structure of digital advertising agencies
  6. Knowledge of salesforce.com helpful
  7. Proven ability to work well within a team environment while accomplishing individual projects
